Virtual Town Hall | Belarus: From Dictatorship to Democracy
Join us for this Virtual Town Hall and meet Veronica Tsepkalo, one of the three leaders of the national democratic movement in Belarus.
Last year, Veronica Tsepkalo organized a political campaign with Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya and Maria Kalesnikova to challenge the "last dictator in Europe" Alexander Lukashenko. The trio successfully brought an unprecedented number of people to speak up against the Lukashenko regime.
One year on, violence and torture against protesters in Belarus continue, more than 400 political prisoners, including Maria Kalesnikova, are still behind bars. The outrageous arrest of Roman Protasevich shocked the world.
Meanwhile, activists are tirelessly finding new ways to speak up for Belarus - including filing a criminal case against Lukashenko.
So what's happening in Belarus and how should the world support the democratic movement in Belarus?
Register for this event and hear from Veronica Tsepkalo, the chairwoman of Belarus Women's Foundation.
