Kenya’s ban on plastic carrier bags is considered one of the strictest in the world, with a hefty fine and a jail time of up to 4 years! There is also a ban on single-use plastics in protected areas. However National parks and the city are still choking in plastics!

Did you know Nairobi is still battling plastic waste? It is estimated about 2400 tonnes of solid waste are produced daily in Nairobi of which 20% of this is plastic waste.

We believe businesses have a great role in reversing this as they can make better choices to reduce plastic waste when it comes to product design. Aside from that, they can also chose to use eco-friendly wrapping as most small businesses here are already doing.

However, this is not the same for Kenya’s Jumia Online store. Unlike other businesses, they are still using PLASTIC TO WRAP their orders.

We want to restore and protect Nairobi from choking in plastics! Sign this petition to push Jumia to ditch plastic packaging and opt for eco-friendly options.

Plastics are very harmful to the environment and there are other alternatives to packaging goods. Think eco friendly, break free from plastics.
